과거시제

과거시제는 last week, yesterday, two years ago등과 같이 과거의 특정한 시점을 나타내는 표현들과 자주 함께 쓴다.  

• A: Did you return from your trip last week?
• B: No, I just came back yesterday. 
  
  
• A: Look outside! It snowed last night.
• B: Wow! Let's build a snowman.
  
  
• We met each other two years ago.
• Jeremy was the university tennis champion in 2008, but he didn't win it in 2009. 
  
  

• I was in Italy three weeks ago.
• The stars were beautiful last night.
• Andy was very nice to me at the party yesterday. 
• My friends and I were at a concert last weekend. 
• These gloves were in my car. 
• It was very hot on Sunday, so we were at the pool all day.
• We were at the new restaurant last night. The food was great.
