VIDEOS Baby Laughing Hysterically at Ripping Paper: The Today Show on Friday, March 4th, interviewed Marcus and Amanda McArthur, parents of the baby that is making the nation laugh—hysterically! As of Friday, March 4, 2011 at 10:00am EST, the laughing baby YouTube video already has 5,867,303 hits on it.
The Today Show was all giggles today as they interviewed Micah McArthur's Mom and Dad. "It’s the Giggle Heard ’Round the World — a video of 8-month-old Micah McArthur laughing as his dad rips up a job rejection letter has drawn 5.5 million views on YouTube. “He just went crazy,” Micah’s dad said Friday. “It really lifted my spirits," reported the Today Show.
The McArthurs said Micah's reaction to the ripping paper was not expected. Marcus said he received a job rejection notice and began ripping it up in front of Micah. When Micah began laughing hysterically, they pulled out the camera and videoed him laughing. The more Dad ripped the paper, the more Micah belly laughed. Marcus said it was the first video like this that he posted to YouTube, and within a short time he was wondering, "Who in the world is watching this? We don't have that many friends!"
According to MY FOX, "He then posted the resulting clip to video-sharing website YouTube. MacArthur told KSDK he uploaded the video about five weeks ago, but it went viral after actress Alyssa Milano shared it with her Twitter followers on Feb. 25, he said. In her tweet, Milano said, "If this video doesn't make you smile, check your pulse."
Marcus McArthur said the video has been up for about 5 weeks now, and the parents are totally shocked with the YouTube video going viral. With all the sadness and war in the world, this video is a welcome breath of fresh air.
